The History of KYMC

Vision:
“A dream home for the generation,
filled with Jesus love and a family they could call”

Mission:
“To provide rest for the lost, the orphans and the stranger. To restore them in the strength and love of Jesus Christ. To love one another as family of God “

On July 6, 2022, KYMC was founded under the name Living in Christ Christian Mission (LCCM), with the heartfelt support of my loving wife and her father, a dedicated pastor serving at Letre, Malabon Church and the young generation that accompanied us together.

It began with a vision—a dream I carried deeply: to establish a humble space where young generations could be renewed. A place where the gospel could be preached, and the broken could find strength through God to rise again.

Along the journey, I encountered my wife’s spiritual mentor and pastor, Reverend Park Ik Soon. Upon learning of our mission, he and his late wife, Kim Kyung-ran, shared a similar calling in their hearts. United by this common vision, Pastor Park became a guiding hand—offering encouragement, wisdom, and steadfast support and in prayer to help keep our church standing. In honour of his beloved wife, he dreamed of seeing our church become part of a legacy—a Church Memorial (Carol Park, Kim)—dedicated to her memory and the shared dream they once held.

“Bahay ng Pangarap sa Kabataan” as they named it, and he said,

“It will be the shelter for victims from their families, church, or community. So, they can rest both physically and spiritual burdens. Like youth healing centre.”

LCCM name was not then continued and considered a new name.

OUR NAME:

Considering our careful selection and fervent prayers, this should be called “KANLUNGAN YOUTH MISSION CENTER”

Our definition of Terms:

1. “KANLUNGAN
Kanlungan is a Tagalog/Filipino words which means:
– Safe Haven; Safe Place; Refuge; Shelter; Covert; place of comfort; a place like Home; A harbor for safety; A Sanctuary

2. “YOUTH
First of all, WE are the youth.
Because God is working through us firsthand, and we are not yet old.
And we, as a youth, can serve both the young and old ones. So our ministry should not be limited to serve only youngsters, but that we as young ministers can serve God without descrimination to anyone who needs it. Believers or not, regardless of age, and be it a common man, man or woman, married or not, widowed or not, or the same ministers of God, and even pastors or missionaries who will be needing a quiet time and a quiet place to heal, our place must be available.
Because most of the time, they are the most neglected and overlooked.

Secondly, our own children are the youth also, and we also should serve and minister to them. They are going to be the key persons of this vision, mission and legacy carried through and by our own following generations.
So this ministry will not be limited to us youngsters or the old ones, but also for our own children.

Thirdly, every Pastor’s kid are young people too. They are much more neglected and are experiencing challenges and difficulties of being in a Pastor’s family. Many things are left unexplained and undescribed about these matter, but it is real and existing. So in much that we can and God will led us and cause us to do in the future, the church should be also open for them, not just our own children.

And last but not least, for the persons unknown, especially for young people who are experiencing the challenges needed to be faced as a result of the falling society in our country – Philippines. Because our national hero Jose P. Rizal was absolutely right when he said that the hope of a country lies within the young people. It is one truth that even the Bible supports. That is why our youth is the most attacked by the enemy, but the most vulnerable ones that needs protection by any means, but basically, in spiritual aspect – needing for God.

This is an open vision for the lost, for the invalidated needs of the younger generation who suffers strife mentally, physically and being emotionally neglected even by the majority of churches we have today, leaving no attention and sympathy to the psychological and emotional needs of one’s soul that everybody is claiming to win for Christ.
Meaning, in any way available according to these people needs and our capabilities in the future, the church must be open for them to be served in a way that the wisdom of God should reveal in every circumstance.

3. “MISSION
Because this mission signifies a purposeful movement to be carried from one person to another, from one family to another, and from one generation to another.

4. “CENTER
Because while we have a one specific goal, it is going to have one physical place where the organization will provide diverse servitude, in different activities and having several specific functions concentrated in this location.

Message from: Kuya Gabriel Bituin

I am the present pastoring leader of the KYMC community. Aside from being a Pastor and starting this community, I am also working as an Aircraft Engineer in Aviation Industry.

Currently, I live in London to support and continue my ministry. We dream to have our own church building someday, though I believed God will give it to us even without the work of my own hands.

God has entrusted me with a vision—a vision that strengthens and anchors my heart. Though often difficult to grasp, it gives me the courage to stand firm each time I recall it.
This vision is rooted from John 13:34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

This vision is not about me alone. It is about bringing love to many—carrying their burdens and easing their sorrow. The road towards fulfilling the message of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is steep and challenging. Yet as I journeyed forward, I believe I will continue to meet people who are meant to be part of this path. The farther I go, the more souls I encounter, drawn by the same calling. And through love, this path is becoming visible and possible.

It’s no coincidence that I met my wife, my first patient, the youth, and even my own son. Each was sent by God— companions meant to walk beside me and support one another on this journey. I may not see the end of this road yet, but I trust that God is showing me how I am to live out His purpose for my life and my family. I now understand that everyone God has brought into my life is part of this vision—even my own family. And for that, I am grateful.

I believed that all our doctrines founded in the scripture should depend on the understanding of the love of God and love for one another, as Matthew 22:37–40 said:

37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with  all your soul and with all your mind38 This is the great and first commandment.

39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself

40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets”

From these rooted all the missions and visions of the KYMC, to look but not for imperfection but the willingness to embrace people in their troubled times especially the young generations. Rejected by family, society or even in churches, pursuing in the love of Jesus and win any of their circumstances.

God is love, Jesus is love and from it covers all the multitudes of sin.
